In iOS 18, Siri is expected to receive several new features to enhance its functionality. These new features of Siri in iOS 18 include the ability to control camera actions using voice commands. Users will be asked Siri to perform tasks such as capturing pictures and videos, switching between the front and rear cameras, toggling video recording, opening the camera in specific modes, and setting a timer.

Siri is likely to gain advanced capabilities within the Mail app. These include the ability to categorize emails into different sections such as Commerce, News, Promotions, Social, Transactions, and more. Additionally, users may be able to perform various actions within the Mail app, such as identifying emails as junk, sending and undoing emails, creating drafts, blocking or muting specific senders, unsubscribing from emails, and generating summaries. The Smart Replies feature, powered by Apple's large language model, is also expected to be integrated into the Mail app, allowing users to send AI-generated responses to emails.
These updates are aimed at making Siri more intuitive by training it to understand natural language commands, speech patterns, sentence structures, and user instructions. Apple is reportedly testing Siri with additional, more complex commands to provide a more seamless and personalized user experience.
Additionally, a comprehensive list of first-party Apple apps compatible with Siri's new AI capabilities has been revealed, including Camera, Books, Contacts, Mail, Safari, News, and Voice Memos.

Siri can handle several tasks within the Photos app including editing, moving and hiding pictures, identifying objects, opening specific pictures, adding photos to albums, applying filters and more.
