India's Advertising Industry Soars to New Heights in 2024

According to GroupM, a leading media investment company, the country's advertising industry is balanced for a remarkable 10.2% growth in 2024, despite a slight dip from the previous year's rate of 11.3%. But don't let that fool you.

India remains among the fastest-growing ad markets globally, with an expected cost of ₹1,55,386 crore.

Digital Media takes centre stage in this growth story, expected to surge by 13% to reach ₹88,502 crore in 2024, claiming a significant 57% share of the total ad spending pie. However, traditional media isn't being left behind. Print advertising is projected to grow by 5%, while television is set to increase by 7%, contributing 29% of the total ad spending.

But here's where it gets really exciting--cinema advertising is expected to see the highest growth rate of 13%, reaching ₹879 crore. This surge is fueled by sectors like auto, reality, and offline retail, which are expected to be the driving forces behind the overall advertising growth.

But perhaps the most intriguing trend is the rise of smart televisions. With approximately 34 million homes already provided with internet-connected smart TVs in 2023, this number is set to soar to 45 million by the end of 2024.
