Google's Game-Changing Duo: Meet Gemini on Message and Gen-AI Android Auto

Google unveiled a series of updates making Generative artificial intelligence users more user-friendly. One of the new features is the integration of Google's Gemini chatbot into the Google Messages app on Android devices.

This chatbot helps users draft SMS messages and schedule meetings, which are synced with their Google email and calendar services.

Additionally, the Android Auto Platforms for cars also perform for generative AI technology, The AI model will summarize text messages while the car is in motion and connected to the infotainment unit.

Google Pixel Smartphones will be able to access the Gemini on Messages feature starting this week. The company's senior director of product and design for Wear OS. On the other hand, Menaka Shroff, senior marketing director for Google's Global Android ecosystem stated that the latest updates are part of Google's efforts to invest in interoperability technologies that make devices work better together.


Google's Lookout app now has accessibility features such as AI-generated captions, which allow automatic audio descriptions for on-screen content.

This is similar to Samsung's recent implementation of comparable features in its Galaxy S24 Smartphone series, Google Lens also has enhanced screen reading features via Maps, and the "Circle To Search" feature has been expanded to the wider Android ecosystem.

In addition to Google, other companies such as Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Amazon also showcased their generative AI technology at the Mobile World Congress. For example, Microsoft unveiled generative AI-powered real-time analysis of voice calls for fraud protection to enterprises in operator-driven calls. Qualcomm introduced its AI Hub, providing developers access to over 75 AI models to discover new applications for Snapdragon-powered devices.
