Elon Musk replaced Bird with X rebranding and taking off the “Everything app”, a part of a major rebrand taking the platform another step closer to the billionaire’s dream of creating an everything app.
As devoted users open Twitter on 23 July found a blank X in the corner of their browser tab, in place of the blue little bird. This is Elon Musk’s move surprised nearly everyone, He had purchased for a highly leveraged $44 billion in October 2022.
And, the company is now called X.
HOW DOES “X” DEPICT TWITTER?
The new logo, a white symbolic “X” on a black background, has also replaced the “Larry T bird” launched in 2006, many people didn’t about this logo which is now turned into X, twitter’s identity and vision of the future.

Twitter’s official account—@Twitter—has also been changed in the rebrand and is now named “X,” showing just the new logo as a profile picture and a bio reading “What's happening?!
Other Twitter accounts appear to be in the process of being changed, with accounts for creators (@TwitterCreators) and verification (@verified) having been changed while others, notably the main support account (@TwitterSupport) still showing the bluebird at the time of writing.
Elon Musk is not alone in rebranding the name and iconography of its highly recognisable, even making a meaningful, brand. Musk’s move parallels seeing recent makeover efforts, like Facebook to Meta, or HBO to Max, are a good call for the world. Some pivotal brands are more successful than others – and there are significant reasons why.
‘People don’t love change’
Companies rebrand – it’s how they innovate and adapt.
The purpose of a rebrand is generally to enhance a company’s identity and reputation, and an indication of a shift in their focus and investments like this one. All they need to innovate and adapt to the go-to-market.
Some users are excited about the change but some are jarring and betraying. It, of course, takes time to settle your stuff on this app. It happens when they feel emotionally invested in brands, especially with products they use in their daily lives with a purpose.
Some users found the transition to X a badge of honour for Musk, in which a new person at the helm, who has a history of making great gestures.
