Meta AI chatbot can be accessed by clicking on the Meta AI icon in the main search bar or the Instagram DM search bar. Users can then have a conversation with the chatbot directly from their DM, similar to chatting with a friend. Interestingly, the chatbot can also help users navigate reels on a specific topic, eliminating the need to rely on Instagram search.

Meta AI was unveiled during the Meta Connect 2023 event in September last year, and the company plans to incorporate the generative AI experience into all its social media applications, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook.

The chatbot uses a bespoke model based on Llama 2, a generative text model, and Meta's Large Language Model (LLM) research to deliver smooth conversational interactions. Additionally, Meta has partnered with Microsoft's Bing to integrate real-time information retrieval into text-based conversations.
According to Meta, its AI assistant will provide valuable aid in various situations, such as offering suggestions, delivering entertainment, settling disagreements, and imparting knowledge.
