Is Zomato's Decision to Roll Back 'Pure Veg Mode' Fleet a Good Move for the Company?
Zomato, the popular food delivery platform recently launched a new service called "Pure Veg Mode" that caters exclusively to the dietary preferences of pure vegetarian customers. This includes a selection of restaurants serving only vegetarian food, excluding any establishments offering non-vegetarian items. In addition, Zomato introduced a "Pure Veg Fleet" to serve customers who follow a 100% vegetarian diet.

First, Zomato planned to segregate its fleet of riders based on the type of food they carry, with the vegetarian fleet wearing green jackets. However the company decided to roll back this practice, and both the regular fleet and the vegetarian fleet continued to wear red jackets, the following customer's feedback.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal acknowledged the criticism and stated that Zomato would "roll it back in a heartbeat". He also expressed gratitude for the genuine feedback from the customers which helped Zomato understand the unintended consequences of the initial rollout.
The company remains committed to providing its customers with the best possible service regarding their diverse dietary preferences.
