Unlocking the Power of Transcripts: A Guide to Apple's Latest Podcast Update

Apple has rolled out an update to iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4, presenting a new feature in the Podcasts app that is expected to significantly enhance the experience of listening to podcasts.

The Apple feature called "transcripts.. "will automatically generate a transcript of a podcast soon after it is published. Users will be able to read the full text with ease of an episode, search for specific words or phrases, and even follow along as the episode plays.

Apple has designed the transcripts to be accessible to all users, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The company has enhanced the font and color contrast of the transcripts to make them easier to read and scan, and each word is highlighted as it is spoken in the episode, making it easy to follow along.

Apple has said that transcripts for previously released episodes will also be available "over time." However, the feature is currently limited to English, French, Spanish, and German language podcasts and does not offer translations from one language to another.
