- Influencers Need To Review Their False Positivity But Do They Amend It?
I am sure so many of you have watched the most popular movie Titanic, a scene you probably remember when the ship is sinking, everyone is panicking, screaming, and crying, and the eight-member orchestra decides to continue playing music on the deck even till they go down with the ship. Those brave souls who went down with the sinking Titanic, these Neros are not playing beautiful carols to calm everyone around them. Instead, they are demanding you to sit quietly as the ship sinks so they can continue playing and enjoying their music. How beautiful they deal with the situation knowing that they are going to die. Now, come back to the next type of people who have been driven to acts of desperation, like sending DMs to strangers, especially influential ones, in the hopes of getting one lead. Individuals including influencers have begun gathering and sharing resources with prayers that may mean a better outcome for someone’s life. The positivity seekers, the happiness choosers, on the other hand, are posting about their luxurious life. With the great blue tick comes great responsibility. Photo credit Madrona Rose on Unsplash If you have a blue tick on your social media profile, you have to be updated so you can engage with your customers and gain followers as well. With the great blue tick comes great responsibility. This is one thing that gave influencers mental rest for a few moments in their hectic day, filled with suffering and challenges. Every individual has the right to make personal choices, I respect that, and will not judge it, of course. But when the individual is an influencer, with a capital ‘I’ rules change. Because chasing the race of likes affected lives. Influencers, today, have replaced family, friends, school and even faith to a large extent. They have built their brands for the most part without relying on any ‘consumer product’ other than unfathomable content. The truth is like any miracle, it has its dark side. So when an Influencer seeds an idea that paints desperation and altruism as people choosing to “be negative”, they are no longer making a personal choice relevant only to themselves. Because like any of us mere mortals, they can unfollow, restrict, or block the content and creators they’re not happy with. When they actively seek to shame anyone for their lived experience is where I draw the line. People, who are glued to the social media world have been constantly drowning in what’s happening, perplexed by genuine efforts of help and real requests for resources, and the reality they want to escape from. Their favourite influencer has just made a connection between asking for and seeking help with the choice of being negative. What’s the catch? Photo credit Joel Muniz on Unsplash We must not chase a false positivity that forces us to pretend or could hide what we are suffering, preventing us from getting the help and support you need. False positivity also produces stigma, at a time when we should all feel motivated to talk openly about our mental health.
- Charted One Habit Learn Form Creative And Genius minds
What if, the world’s most famous creative geniuses had one habit in common, would you try to follow it yourself? Well, in the next few minutes, you will inevitably follow this habit in your daily routine. People in the world get seven to nine hours of sleep every night. You can see the observation is based on a famous creatives routine chart created by RJ Andrews, a storyteller, writer, and visualization artist Info We Trust The chart breaks down how 16 of the most famous geniuses ever to live spent 24 hours in their days. These geniuses included Charles Darwin, Sigmund Freud, Charles Dickens, Benjamin Franklin, and Maya Angelou. Other than Angelou, all of the geniuses were White Men. They all got seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Science tells us there's a very real connection between creativity and sleep, and sleep has proven benefits for pretty much every aspect of brain function. If there's one thing every genius needs, it's a well-functioning brain. When we reach nighttime, this side of our brain becomes more active because less energy is being used to power the rest of our brain. This is partly what allows creative surges to happen. Now, why do writers write at night? “I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.” - Vincent Van Gogh At the stage of sleep scientist REM sleep is beneficial to the creative process. A study has shown that this stage of sleep helps the brain connected unrelated ideas, which in turn aids creative problem-solving. Apart from the impotence of sleep, what else we can learn from these geniuses and creative minds’ daily habits? One thing, a brisk walk, and sometimes more than one. Charles Darwin who was an English naturalist, took three walks a day. Again, you are familiar with its benefits. He wrote that moving or exercise encourages innovation. It quickly and effectively lightens the mood and also allows our intellect to relax. What else? Decision fatigue is one reason that developing daily habits and routines can be such a powerful thing to do. The more we put our daily work habits--and life habits, too--on autopilot, the more energy our brains have for more challenging and meaningful cognitive tasks. And if you put some thought into your routines when you first create them, they can help you stick with healthy habits such as a daily workout or nutritious breakfast. Why we are indecisive? It comes from exhaustion and a lack of confidence but, do you know how powerful it can be daily? The more we put our daily work and life habits on autopilot (stop focusing on the outer world), the more energy our brains have for more challenging tasks. Here is how can get over this: Write journal. Plan daily decisions at night When you prioritize what’s important, everything will fall into place. Getting the most important thing done, does matter. Stop making decisions. Start making commitments. We all have things we say that are important to us: I want to scale my business I want to get into shape in the next six months I want to start XYZ Unfortunately, it does not work until you schedule them. Making a decision requires time to ponder but commitment requires effort and actions. Making the right choice is crucial but scheduling the important things that you truly want to tackle is far more important than that. I am leaving with a famous quote - Your net worth to the world is usually determined by what remains after your bad habits are subtracted from your good ones.” – Benjamin Franklin So, if you don't have one already, try creating it today!

- 10 Quickest Ways To Appear Smart In Meeting
Like everyone, appearing smart in meetings is my top priority. Sometimes this can be difficult if you start daydreaming about your next vacation, your next nap, or bacon. When this happens, it’s good to have some fallback tricks to fall back on. Here are my ten favorite tricks for quickly appearing smart in meetings. Everyone trying to appear smart in meetings is my top priority but, for some, here I brought some fallback tricks to fall back on. Ten top tricks for quickly appearing smart in meetings. 1. Draw a Venn diagram Getting up and drawing a Venn diagram is a great way to appear smart. It doesn’t matter if your Venn diagram is wildly inaccurate, in fact, the more inaccurate the better. Even before you’ve put that marker down, your colleagues will begin fighting about what exactly the labels should be and how big the circles should be, etc. Encourage everyone to “take a step back” A moment comes in most meetings where everyone is chiming in, except you. Everyone will turn their heads toward you, amazed favourite see your silence. Follow it up with a quick, "What problem are we trying to figure out? and boom! you have bought yourself another hour of looking smart. Nod continuously while pretending to take notes Always bring a notepad with you. Your rejection of technology will be revered. Take notes by simply writing down one word from every sentence that you hear. Nod continuously while doing so. If someone asks you if you’re taking notes, quickly say that these are your notes and that someone else should be keeping a record of the meeting. Repeat the last thing the engineer said, but ponderous Make a mental note of the engineer in the room. Remember their name. They’ll be quiet throughout most of the meeting, but when their moment comes everything out of their mouth will spring from a place of unknowable brilliance. After they utter these divine words, chime in with, “Let me just repeat that,” and repeat exactly what the engineer just said, but very, very slowly. Now, that engineer’s brilliance has been transferred to you. People will look back on the meeting and mistakenly attribute the intelligent statement to you. Ask “Will this scale?” no matter what it is It’s important to find out if things will scale no matter what it is you’re discussing. No one even really knows what that means, but it’s a good catch-all question that generally applies and drives engineers nuts. Pace around the room Whenever someone gets up from the table and walks around, don’t you immediately respect them? I know I do. It takes a lot of guts but once you do it, you immediately appear smart. Fold your arms. Walk around. Go to the corner and lean against the wall. Take a deep, contemplative sigh. Trust me, everyone will be shitting their pants wondering what you’re thinking. If only they knew (bacon). Ask the presenter to go back to a slide “Sorry, could you go back a slide?” They’re the seven words no presenter wants to hear. It doesn’t matter where in the presentation you shout this out, it’ll immediately make you look like you’re paying closer attention than everyone else is, because they missed the thing that you’re about to brilliantly point out. Don’t have anything to point out? Just say something like, “I’m not sure what these numbers mean,” and sit back. You’ve bought yourself almost an entire meeting of appearing smart. Step out for a phone call You’re probably afraid to step out of the room because you fear people will think you aren’t making the meeting a priority. Interestingly, however, if you step out of a meeting for an “important” phone call, they’ll all realize just how busy and important you are. They’ll say, “Wow, this meeting is important, so if he has something even more important than this, well, we better not bother him.” Make fun of yourself If someone asks what you think, and you honestly didn’t hear a single word anyone said for the last hour, just say, “I honestly didn’t hear a single word anyone said for the last hour.” People love self-deprecating humour. Say things like, “Maybe we can just use the lawyers from my divorce,” or “God I wish I was dead.” They’ll laugh, value your honesty, consider contacting H.R., but most importantly, think you’re the smartest-looking person in the room.
- How Social Media Has Outrageously Effected The World?
A smartphone is no less than an addiction and no longer just a cellular device tethering us to the outside world—is almost like an essential tech extension that counts our steps, checks blood pressure, monitors our water intake, and our payments. People who are staring at screens excessively are losing the most precious time. After knowing that nothing and no one makes them feel like drowning but a gadget glued to their hands. So, it comes as little surprise that instances of phone anxiety have been at the peak, with many avoiding calls or checking their messages for fear of having a text from their boss camped out in the notifications. All of this changed when a global outage plunged our digital lives into darkness. On the night of October 4, an internal routing mistake to an internet domain caused a six-hour outage in the services of a trio of social media apps—WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Some restarted their phones, others uninstalled apps in search of a solution before news spread that the apps’ services had been disrupted across the globe (of course, Twitter users were having a field day). After battling through the initial impulsiveness to keep refreshing the feed, a glorious catharsis settled in as the beeps and blips of notifications were replaced by a far superior alternative: the sound of silence. As technology took shape, human lives changed. A global outage plunged our digital lives into darkness. Three most popular and powerful social apps—WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. “For some, the phone acts as a lifeline and having their connection to the outside world suddenly taken away proved alarming, spinning off conspiracy theories about how the internet would come to an end. For others, it was a legitimate reprieve from the constant bombardment of work texts. While earlier we could shut down our screens and clock out at a designated hour, work-from-home has blurred those lines. "An unexpected disruption in services offered many of us a valid excuse to not have to respond to messages and get a breather from the breakneck pace of life.” The psychologist also believes that the outage occurring on a global scale tapped into our baser instincts of FOMO “There was an initial level of paranoia but once everybody realised that it was a global occurrence, they became more comfortable with it because it meant that everyone else was missing out as well. How to reduce phone addiction in everyday life? While dialling back our screen time is a common goal for most people, We should “Live in the moment instead of capturing the moment. “A handy first step would be to swap virtual activities in favour of spending time with real people and real activities. In today’s life, we are constantly scouting for the next best photo or the next best video to share online. Instead, try being present at the moment to build memories that can stay with you for a lifetime”. As for those who feel the chronic need to constantly check their phone, Narang believes it might be a sign of repressed pain. “Addiction always happens for a reason. You need to figure out what you are running away from or which thoughts you are trying to avoid. When you put your phone away, the thoughts and emotions that come to mind might be distressing, but it is always helpful to work through them with a professional or spend some time reflecting on yourself to understand them better. Reminder? Here. Wrap Things up, If thousands of pictures without emotions are useless. Click less. Live more is the motto of wellness
- 6 Most Lucrative Businesses Made Billion Dollars With A Bunch Of Stupid Ideas
Many people want to build a startup influenced by other successful companies in the world. Well, it all takes grit, time, and peddle patience. Many of you have heard the startups like Instagram, and Facebook, and "just want to say that I want to build a company like that. All I need, have one "stupid" idea. After all the conventional wisdom is that with a smart idea making billions is just a matter of details. Here is a bunch of 'stupid' ideas that made billions. #One Snapchat When Evan Spiegel stood up in a Stanford product design class to present an idea for his final project who was junior at that time, he explained a mobile app where friends could share relishing and random photos usually, only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. Everyone said, 'That is a terrible idea," Spiegel remembers. "Not only is nobody going to use it, they said, Everyone said, ‘That is a terrible idea.’ #Two Apple On April Fool’s Day of 1976, Jobs and Wozniak founded Apple Computer Inc. Wozniak designed what was going to be Apple 1. He named his brand "Apple" because he like an Apple and the reason for the bite was to clarify clearly that the fruit is an Apple. It delivers a clear, concise and more approachable way. Because he was a proud HP employee and loved the company, he believed the product rightfully belongs to his employer as he signed a document stating everything he designs for HP. So he approached his managers with a proposal to manufacture it... 5 times. “I begged Hewlett-Packard to make the Apple I. Five times they turned me down.” #Three Airbnb Renting Airbnb in your living room to random people and serving them breakfast sounds like the kind of idea you should be secretive about or everyone will instantly recognize the potential, deploy it and watch it turn into billion dollar business right? It turns out AirBnb founders told it everybody thought it was a dumb idea. Friends of founders, all investors, including those who invested in and even founders themselves. According to Brian Chesky, “We thought this idea wasn’t going to work the moment we came up with it”. The only investor who gave AirBnB a chance was Paul Graham who said: It turns our “We thought Airbnb was a bad idea. We funded it because we really liked the founders.” #Four Space X Elon Musk got tweets, ' Creating a rocket company has to be the dumbest and most challenging way to make money. His two best-known companies, especially considering that Tesa has a market cap of over $52 billion, while Forbes values the private rocket company SpaceX at more than $20 billion. Despite the risk, Musk said that he wanted to find the solution, things that don't seem to be working are important for our future and for the world to be good. His ability to change the world was beyond imagination and that made him world's wealthiest man in the world. An internet entrepreneur started a company that builds rockets on the premise of; if NASA can launch a rocket for $100 million, we can do it for $50 million. According to Elon Musk himself: “In fact, when I started SpaceX, I thought that the most likely outcome was failure. And I think to have any other expectation would have been irrational.” #Five Google When Google started there were some 20 search engines everyone was already using. Google was so late to the market they were practically irrelevant. And that wasn't all. Most of the existing search engines were so commercially unsuccessful that everyone categorized them as money losers. As for Google, the only difference was that they stripped down all the content from their homepage. At that particular time the idea was so bad that when Larry Page offered to sell Google to Excite for $750,000, Excite didn’t even want it. #Six Facebook In one of his essays, Paul Graham recalls "One of my most valuable memories is how lame Facebook sounded to me when I first heard about it. A site for college students to waste time? When Facebook started there were already Friendster and Myspace. Before them, there were several social networking sites most of which failed. Social networking was a trend, there were sites like Facebook popping out everywhere around the world. it was probably the least original idea of all at the time and their focus was Harvard alone. The best ideas look initially like bad ideas.” The magic of just doing something. Many of our potential clients at Appster have been waiting for ages for “that great idea.” If you think of startups like Paypal — they had five ideas that failed but they executed every one of them. Instagram started as Burnbn — a foursquare knockoff. Pinterest began as an e-commerce startup and Youtube as a dating site. AirBnB sold cereals. Steve Jobs and Woz hacked phones for money before officially founding Apple. In summary, If you have a dream to build a business but seek a great idea to start? You will never be able to start over. A bad idea leads to better results. It is all about the execution. Google seemed like a failure but it took them a few years to build AdSense that made them successful and it wasn’t even their idea. Mark Zuckerberg did some great execution in gradually infiltrating the market and maintaining growth higher than all other social networks. He also managed his board well and got the best people to work with him. AirBnB relaunched three times until getting it right and Paypal failed four times but they hung in there. The history and all the most successful startups above prove to us once again that all we need isn’t just a good idea. Instead, we need to show up and keep executing. We need to keep just doing something no matter how challenging it gets at times. As Chuck Close puts it perfectly: “Inspiration is for amateurs — the rest of us just show up and get to work.”
- 5 Foolproof Ways To Beat Procrastination and Get Uplift
Procrastination derives from the Latin word procrastinate, which means an action of delaying something. Simply put, procrastination is like barriers blocking your way. It is natural human behaviour for a fleeting moment. You surely have one question, why is this happening and how do we get over it? According to the two Harvard professors, The reason why we procrastinate is because our mind wants an immediate benefit. If you can find a way to make the benefits of good long-term choices more immediate, then it becomes easier to avoid procrastination. Believe me or not, when you do not pay full attention to your body and mind, get easily trapped in procrastination. Habits are vital to be aware of so that you can break the barrier and be free from them. According to research that asked people what their biggest regret was when they lost a loved one, procrastination regrets ranked the highest; the things they didn't do with them while they were alive. So why do we do it? Relax! Research shows that procrastination is connected to mental health, a lack of confidence, and self-doubt in your ability to follow through on what you set out to do. But there are steps you can take based on science to overcome procrastination and get closer to the life you want. Here you can follow these: 1. Lean into the discomfort (be present) Have you ever felt drained or had a sense of dread doing something you are not comfortable with? This is the true statement, in order to grow and learn, you have to be comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. When people begin to procrastinate, they choose instant gratification like a pain killer but, it is no longer effective. All you need to listen, identify and figure out the situation. Later, you will get comfortable. Another bonus point is if you want to overcome procrastination, sit for a while, identify the negative emotions, thoughts that are arising in you and jot each of them on a paper. Once, you know them keep interrogating yourself, why are you feeling demotivated? why are the bad ideas hovering over your head? What's the root? Clear your WHY then you will not need instant motivation or anything to drag you out from this behaviour. The more you deal with discomfort, the more your self-control builds and you will see a positive change in you. This is the root. 2. Choose the emotion you want to focus on We often ignore our emotions and it pays a cost. Might be feeling annoyed or stressed when we sit down to work on a task, there are other emotions that we are experiencing as well. We might have the desire to learn something new and become more proficient at something or get promoted at work; no matter how small this desire is, it is still there. We all have an inner landscape of emotions that we are feeling at any given time, and we can choose which emotion from this inner landscape we want to focus on. So instead of thinking about how much we despise work, we still tap into the wish to enrich ourselves mentally or professionally. This not only makes it easier to engage, but it makes doing the work more meaningful as we are connecting with our values and motives. 3. Call yourself perfectly imperfect Perfection is something you can't control or change, on the flip side, you can work differently and enhance in your regularly. This not only applies to work, but anytime you have to decide life. Allow yourself to do anything imperfectly to make it easier to follow through then you can distil it later. If you this technique, you will start to notice that your hateful work inevitably changes into excitement and ease. Stop following perfection especially, when you start doing something for the first time. Chasing perfection may feel paralysed to start working on something because you think that it needs to be done perfectly or that you can't begin because you are underestimating your capabilities and are not confident enough, so you hang in there. Perfection is a myth. “If you look for perfection, you'll never be content.” ― Leo Tolstoy 4. Act now and motivation will follow At the heart of procrastination is the thinking that tomorrow, we will feel like it more. But studies show that we’re very bad at predicting how we will feel in the future. You know how it is: you decide to give up caffeine for example, but before you do this, you treat yourself one last time. And right after you’ve had your fix, you think that it won’t be so hard to stick to your plan, but as soon as temptation hits, you’re back to where you started. We often think that the way we’re feeling now will be the way we will be feeling in the future. When it comes to procrastination, we’re happy now because we’ve put off doing something, so we believe that these positive emotions will also be there tomorrow when we come back to the task. But this is never the case. Human life is not run by motivation, for this you must have a purpose, meaning, and devotion to achieve something. To achieve, you go through thousands of emotions, spikes, and barriers to get anything in life. For instance, you decide to give up caffeine but before you do this, you treat yourself one last time. And right after you have had your fix, you think that it won't be so hard to stick to your plan, but as soon as temptation hits, you are back to where you started. Knowing that we are not able to predict our emotions makes it easier to act now because it can allow you to start on a task even though, you are not motivated. For making yourself feel stimulated, you watch motivational videos, listen to podcasts, etcetera. People erroneously think that they need to feel like it or be motivated before doing something, but it is the opposite. Motivation follows action. 5. Stop daydreaming. Start execution In the process of reducing the amount of time you spend procrastinating, cut back on overthinking and daydreaming. We drain our energy thinking about something else that doesn't matter to us or mindlessly scrolling through social media feeds. But research shows that people who spend much of their time daydreaming have a harder time getting back to their goals and sustaining attention. It is also addictive—the more you daydream, the harder it becomes to control, and it's even tied to depression. Often when we daydream, we direct our attention towards the self, unrealised goals, or think about an idealised self that doesn't match up to how we are now.
- 8 Insights To Create An Unique And Memorable Brand That Nobody Talks About
Modern consumers want more than just a product — they want to connect with the entire voice, message and aesthetic of the company's brand. In addition, Creating a powerful and memorable brand identity strategy is not just a smart business move, it's an absolute necessity for success in the modern crowd. With such a multifaceted ask, it can be difficult for entrepreneurs to know where to start and where to allocate their energy and resources. To help you improve your strategy, I would like to share some surefire insights of great entrepreneurs that you will admire later. 1. What's Your Brand Story? Before connecting consumers to your brand, tell them a reason to connect. An authentic connection for your loyal customers in your doorway. One powerful way for them to build that connection with your brand is by finding themselves in your origin story and this origin story shares stimulation for building in such a way that your ideal customers can relate to it and feel loyal to you. 2. Ensure Customer Experience Reflects Brand Promise You need to identify what your brand stands for before defining your brand's core values. These values should be refect in absolutely everything that has to do with your brand. For example, if the brand promise is centred on trust, how is that value reflected in the touchpoints a customer has? Does your invoice only mention punishment for not paying? So, it is important to consider how your brand is tied to each step of the customer journey. Some examples of winning brand values that businesses use in 2023: Integrity — Always doing the right thing no matter what. Honesty — Transparency and truthfulness. Innovation — Creativity and always seeking to do things in new ways. Sustainability — Being mindful of the environment and operating in sustainable practices. Excellence — Striving to be the absolute best at what you do. Diversity — Creating a welcoming environment that celebrates and embraces difference Organization leaders often miss the fact that their employees are their biggest brand advocates. If they treat their employees with respect, leave them feeling valued and admire them for their effort, they were hired to do and empower them to innovate, They will strengthen their brand more than they imagined. Focus on your internal customers, they have the potential to strengthen your brand by taking a leap and bounds. Garyvee says all you need to have a better conversation with your employees. Because, love and kindness are motivators, no other way around. Things get started to change. 3. Inject The Self-awareness Self-awareness is nothing less than a sword to fight for your happiness (what you want) against the world. Then, start with great self-awareness. Building a tremendously effective brand strategy is almost impossible if you don't know how you are perceived by those you are trying to target. You must have an understanding of your unique business value is imperative. How will you simplify this, Why you are good at what you do. Don't get the two confused. This is why major brands invest heavily in focus groups. 4. Stand Out In The Crowd The brands that stand out in the marketplace are those that respond to an unmet need. One that they capture and articulate to the audience boldly and that resonates with passion and authenticity. However, many brand managers have insecurity (a lack of confidence) to take risks and do something different. 5. Use Medium As A Powerful Tool Marketing is about showing up, about being authentic, involved and delivering. There are several mediums to show up your brand not directly or indirectly but effectively. The medium of choice for the public is video, the reason is people are less interested to read rather than watch. Even slick high-end brands need to get granular here with people in relatable situations. For entrepreneurs, it's time to stop worrying and put yourself, your message and your expertise out there in the video. Put realistic and valuable content so that people can resonate with a short attention span. 6. Poll Your Customers Your brand is what your customers say it is, not what you tell them it is. So have your customers tell you what they think is authentic about your brand, choose those characteristics you want to invest in and build on that existing success by turning up the volume. Most importantly, find ways to reward your employees for living those brand attributes every day, entrenching them into your culture. 7. Identify Your P's Knowing your four P's of marketing (product characteristics, price structure, placement strategy and promotional strategy) can assist businesses with improving their branding strategy. When you have identified your P's, you can identify your unique selling proposition (USP) which allows businesses to identify what's unique about their business compared to their competitors. 8. Pick A Lane And Stay On The Course Offering too much all at once will baffle the market and drive revenue down, not up. Instead, pick a lane of products and customers that are at the core of what you stand for and remain focused on serving them and their needs with what you have to offer. This will ensure you become memorable and referable to those who seek what you offer while remaining true to what is important. On a final note Embrace your flaws and stay true to your purpose. Customers appreciate that a brand acknowledges its flaws and is willing to work on them based on their feedback. They find it endearing and different. Focus on what your brand does best and avoid the temptation to jump on every trend or fad that comes along, there are too many brands that do that already, don't be one of them.
- Milky Way Galaxy: Let's Deep Dive Into Our Space
When we talk about the enormity of the cosmos, it’s easy to toss out big numbers – but far more difficult to wrap our minds around just how large, how far, and how numerous celestial bodies really are. What is a galaxy, anyway? Milkyway is a galaxy that includes the solar system. A hazy of light seen in the night sky formed from stars that can not be distinguished by the naked eye, Deep down, our galaxy is a gravitationally bound collection of stars, swirling in a spiral through space. In the early 1920s, most astronomers thought that the Milky Way contained all the stars in the Universe. Groups of them are bound into clusters of galaxies. Our galaxy probably contains 100 to 400 billion stars, and it is about 100,000 light-years across. Does it sound enormous? It is one of the most common only used celestial yardsticks, the distance light travels in one year. Light zips along through interstellar space at 186,000 miles (300,000 kilometres) per second. Multiply that by all the seconds in one year, and you get 5.8 trillion miles (9.5 trillion kilometres). Earth is about eight light minutes from the Sun. A trip at light speed to the very edge of our solar system. The farthest reaches of the Oort Cloud, a collection of dormant comets way, out there, would take about 1.87 years. Keep going to Proxima Centauri, our nearest neighbouring star, and plan on arriving in 4.25 years at light speed. According to NASA's Kepler space telescope, they predict confidently that every star you see in the sky probably hosts at least one planet. In our galaxy of hundreds of billions of stars, pushes the number of planets potentially into the trillions. Where is the nearest one of these exoplanets It is a small, probably rocky planet orbiting Proxima Centauri, the next star over. A little more than four light-years away, or 24 trillion miles as the crow flies. If an airline offered a flight there by jet, it would take 5 million years. Not much is known about this world; its close orbit and the periodic flaring of its star lower its chances of being habitable. Any others? I would also point you to the seven planets, all roughly in Earth's size range, orbiting a red dwarf star about 40 light-years away. They are more likely rocky, with four in the "habitable zone". The orbital distance allows potential liquid water on the surface. and computer modelling shows have a good chance of being watery or icy worlds. In the next few years, we might learn whether they have an atmosphere or oceans, or even signs of habitability. Ok. Thanks. I need to go. I understand. You’re short on time. That reminds me: Did you know time slows down in the presence of gravity?
- Pickleball Court: Learn Ultimate Lessons To Build Successful Business
Have you ever tried pickleball yet? It's a fast-paced sport and a great way to learn business lessons. In pickleball. Here is the business lesson you can learn from the fun game. Keep your eye on the ball Pickleball is all about the fun game but with an intense focus. As you take your eyes off the ball, you lose right away. The same holds for work. Many challenges life throws at you as balls while you are busy creating curated business. You need to do is laser focus on these challenges and make a great shot. Most people are not as active as they should like a business tycoon to complete all the tasks on their plates. To succeed in this environment, you must remain focused on a single task (ball) so you can hit the ground run and break out all the distractions. All You Need To Paddle Patience I’ve played many a game of pickleball where we should have won had it not been for my teammate and vice-versa. You see, you can’t win this game alone unless you’re playing singles, which most recreational players don’t seem to do. When you’re playing with a weaker player, you must compensate. The same thing implies in business. If you have got a team member who is weaker than you, you will need to compensate for them until they master the skills that are required to be proficient. This may require a bit of practice of a lot of patience as they look to up their game. Make yourself wait, not for the right time but for making the right decision. Whether small or huge, patience is the key to propel forward your business. Never underestimate competitors by their ability Many pickleball games have been lost because a player has assumed the ability of a competitor based on their looks. Let's suppose, a gentleman with an artificial leg who run a marathon, a person who played in a wheelchair and they win too. So, judging a contender by their looks is a huge mistake. I see the same kind of playing out in the workplace. Proficient workers assume about young workers that they don't have the experience to perform flawlessly. Younger workers believe seasoned workers are well past their prime. And, of course, some biases occur when people think women are not up to a task that may have been best done by men in the past. Some people will do whatever it takes to win at all costs I played in my first pickleball tournament this week at Fenway Park. I was excited to compete until I discovered that a member of the opposite team was playing below their level. We got creamed. We weren’t surprised that this couple took first place in our age group and skill category. The lesson here is that not everyone plays fair. This team should have been playing in a more skilled bracket, but if they did, they might not have won. Not everyone plays fair Some people will do whatever it takes to win at all costs. In your career, you will meet many people who break the rules. They will do whatever it takes to win, even if that means trampling over you. You are the solo player and play your own game. The game allows you to look in the mirror every day and know you have not run over anyone to get where you are today. Do whatever it will take to win at any cost Was I angry that this team played the system? Absolutely! Then I realized that this sort of thing happens frequently, and I needed to toughen up my mindset. In your career, you’ll meet many people who break the rules. They will do whatever it takes to win, even if that means trampling over you. Don’t give these people a second thought. Play your own game—the game that allows you to look in the mirror every day and know you haven’t run over anyone to get where you are today.
